Star Wars Rebels “The Forgotten Droid” Review

Last week’s episode of Star Wars Rebels was probably the best episode of this season so far. This week’s episode is, for my money, the worst of the entire series. I have been one of the biggest supporters of Rebels, so don’t take this as a review from a hater. I’m a huge fan of the series, but I gotta call it like I see it- this episode was terrible.

First off, an episode like this belongs in the first half of the season. That should be a no-brainer. This really annoyed me because after last week’s episode, I was on a Rebels high. I heard people complain about how this week’s episode was going to be a chopper-lead episode, but I had faith in Lucasfilm. I thought that if they put this chopper-lead episode right after the Jedi Temple episode, it has to be either really funny, or really action packed. Spoiler alert, it’s neither of those things.

This episode is not funny, at all. Rebels is at its best when it doesn’t feel like you’re watching a kids channel, this episode reminded me that I’m watching Disney X D. I’m not going to break down each failed joke, because it would take too long, but trust me when I say I didn’t even chuckle once during the episode.

This episode is also boring. Chopper gets left behind, ends up on an imperial shuttle, meets a droid, Yada Yada Yada, and they find a new Base of the Rebels. Also, I’m not sure what planet was shown at the end revealing the new Rebel base, but  if it’s Yavin I’m going to be even more annoyed.

All that being said, I  enjoyed the idea and design of the new droid. I didn’t care for the banter between Chopper and AP-5, but I liked his look and voice. I look forward to seeing him in future episodes for sure.

You get the point, this episode was terrible. I have to give this episode a 5/10.
